It’s the Roy-Hart/Barker Bulls football team
It will be a new season with a new look team and a new nickname.
When this coming high school season kicks off on Labor Day weekend it will be the Roy-Hart/Barker Bulls football team taking to the field.
The Bulls nickname was selected by a vote of the returning Roy-Hart and Barker players.
The Bulls, which will be coached by CJ Knight, will open the season at home on September 1 against Burgard.
“I think we’ll be pretty good,” said Knight whose Bulls have been tuning up for the season by taking part in 7 on 7 camps at Medina and Williamsville North as well as the Newfane camp.
The past couple of years it was the tri school Roy-Hart/Barker/Lyndonville team with the nickname the Silverbacks.
This coming season Lyndonville players have joined up with Holley which plays in the Section V 8 Man Division.
This marks the second time that Roy-Hart and Barker have combined for football. The two schools previously joined together from 2011-2017.
Roy-Hart then went it alone for the 2018 and 2019 seasons before becoming the tri school Roy-Hart/Barker/Lyndonville team from 2020-2022 (note – because of the Covid 19 pandemic the 2020 season was played in the spring of 2021).
