It’s Scrimmage Saturday
Photos by Cheryl Wertman – High school football teams across the state began tuning up for next weekend’s season openers by taking part in “Scrimmage Saturday” events today. Locally, Medina/Lyndonville/Barker hosted a five team scrimmage at Vets Park which included Roy-Hart, Newfane, Wilson and Pembroke while Albion faced Batavia and LeRoy in a three-way event at Batavia. The season will get underway this coming Friday evening as Medina/Lyndonville/Barker hosts Depew and Albion visits Olean in Class B2 games while Roy-Hart hosts Gowanda/Pine Valley in a Class C North contest.
