It will be a hot Fourth of July with a chance of thunderstorms
Today is going to be hot and sunny in Orleans County with a high of 88, according to the National Weather Service in Buffalo.
“Heat index values will climb into the upper 80s and lower 90s this afternoon,” the Weather Service said. “If you are planning to be outdoors for the holiday, be sure to stay hydrated and take frequent breaks in the shade or inside if possible.”
In addition, the Weather Service said there is a risk for slow-moving thunderstorms that could produce locally heavy rainfall this afternoon and early this evening.
