Irish roll past Lady Tigers

Building up a commanding 25 point half-time advantage, Notre Dame went on to defeat visiting Lyndonville 64-27 this afternoon in a Genesee Region League girls basketball game.

Callie McCulley scored 18 and Morgan Rhodes and Margaret Sutherland both chipped in with 14 to spearhead the attack for Notre Dame which improves to 13-6. Natalie Thornton added 9, Stevie Wilcox 6, Emma Finch 2 and Gemma Bochicchio 1.
Ella Lewis led Lyndonville with 11 as Anna Lewis added 6, Alecia Hinkson 4 and Faith Chaffee, Savannah Poler and Danielle Weldon 2 each.
McCulley scored 9 and Rhodes hit a pair of threes to help Notre Dame jump out to a 21-7 first period lead.
The Irish upped the advantage to 36-11 at the half as Wilcox netted 5 and Sutherland 4 to lead a 15-4 second period.
Two more threes by Rhodes, along with a pair of baskets by Sutherland, helped the Irish extend the lead to 53-19 at the three-quarter mark.
