Avenging an early season 9-8 loss, Notre Dame knocked visiting Lyndonville from the ranks of the unbeaten by a narrow 2-0 margin this evening in a Genesee Region League baseball game.

Andy Moore scattered 6 hits and struck out 7 on the mound for Notre Dame while Zach Johnson gave up only 3 hits and struck out 14 for Lyndonville.

Notre Dame’s runs both came in the fifth inning on a fielders choice play and an error after a hit batter, a walk and a single had loaded the bases.

Lyndonville had the bases loaded with just one out in the third inning and runners at first and second with no outs in the sixth but couldn’t capitalize.

“We just couldn’t get the big hit,” said Tigers Coach Shane Price.

Nathan Dillenbeck had a pair of doubles for the Tigers.

Now at 12-1 in the league and 14-1 overall, Lyndonville is scheduled to close out the regular season with a home game against CG Finney at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
