Ice Knights complete regular season

Over the weekend, the Roy-Hart/Barker/Medina/ Wilson/Newfane Club Hockey team completed the 18 game regular season.

On Saturday evening, they made the long and snowy drive to Olean and lost a heartbreaker in sudden death overtime 3-2.

There was no scoring in the opening period, but early in the second, Cameron Bryer (Wilson) scored unassisted. In the middle of the period, Olean scored twice within 35 seconds to take the lead.

With just 3:55 remaining in the third period, John Peracciny (Roy-Hart) scored from Ryan Felicetti (Wilson) to tie the game and force the overtime.

At the 3:27 point in the OT, Olean scored to win the game.

Noah Orenz (Newfane) played the game in goal.

Just 15 hours later, RBM hosted the 17-0 team from the Nichols School bowing 6-1.

The first period was very even until Nichols scored with 4 minutes left.

In the next period, the visitors netted the game-winning goal with 7 minutes remaining in the period. Just six seconds later, they scored their third goal. They would add another score before the third period, and went ahead 6-0 in the third.

With just about three minutes left in the game, Austin Woodward (Wilson) scored from Gavin Ickowski (Roy-Hart).

Jordan Johnson (Medina) made numerous saves in goal.

Given little time to prepare or rest, the Knights begin the playoffs this evening with a 7 p.m. game in Jamestown against the 10-6-1 home team.
