Huge first inning keys Rams to sectional win

All the scoring came in a huge first inning as No. 4 seed Roy-Hart defeated visiting No. 5 Southwestern 10-0 this afternoon in the quarterfinal round of the Section VI Class B playoffs.
A two-run single by Sean Mettler and an RBI single by Jake Gould highlighted the marathon 10 run first inning which also saw three runs score on bases loaded walks, three on hit batters with the bases loaded and another on a wild pitch with the bases loaded. A leadoff single by Rem Albee followed by two walks loaded the bases to set up the uprising.
Dawson Draper, Isaac Smith and Gould teamed up on the mound to hurl a two hitter with a 8 strikeouts for the Rams.
Defensively, the Rams turned a double play in the fourth inning from Gould at shortstop to Mettler at second to Albee at first.
Roy-Hart will next face the winner of this evening’s No. 8 Akron at No. 1 Medina game in the semifinals on Wednesday.
