Hub explains why site went down today
We take security very seriously at Orleans Hub. We purchased an SSL security certificate two years ago so that bad actors can’t steal our viewers’ information or hack our site.
The SSL certificate encrypts information on the site so that it can’t be compromised in cyberspace. The certificate expired today, and it was set up to renew automatically.
A glitch at our remote hosting service caused a failure in the auto-renew system, however, so the certificate was expired from midnight until about 8:20 a.m. At that time, the certificate was renewed and encryption was restored.
It appears that we did not experience any security breaches during this time period, but we’re reviewing our logs to make sure. We’d like to assure our viewers that our site meets or exceeds all security requirements for all internet browsers, and that we never collect your personal information for any reason, in any way.
