Organization wants community to know it offers more than traditional hospice care services

ALBION – Hospice of Orleans will announce an exciting new change on Facebook live on Thursday, according to information from Derek Reiner, Development and Public Relations Manager at Hospice.

The public is encouraged to log on to Hospice’s Facebook page (click here) at 2 p.m. on Thursday. The change is intended to increase awareness of the services provided by Hospice.

Hospice of Orleans believes its announced change will better reflect its broad range of supportive services. Those services go beyond what traditional hospice care encompasses, and include supportive care for a variety of illnesses, not only those that are terminal.

Hospice had planned an event for the public on Thursday, but canceled it and chose to do a virtual announcement instead, due to the increase in Covid cases.

The news is also timely, as November is National Hospice and Palliative Care Month, which is an opportunity for engagement, outreach and education.

A full press release explaining the change will be posted in the media immediately after the announcement takes place on Facebook.
