Hornets sting Mustangs

Breaking away from a 4-4 deadlock, Oakfield-Alabama scoring five runs in the fourth inning to key a 10-4 victory over visiting Medina this afternoon in a non league game.

Four straight walks followed by a pair of errors keyed the decisive inning for the Hornets.

Medina had knotted the contest at 4-4 by scoring three times in the top of the fourth on a double by Matt Riemer, a single by Kyle Herman and a fielders choice play. A single by Lawson Fenton ignited the Mustangs rally.

The Hornets had jumped out to an early 4-0 lead by scoring two unearned runs in both the first and second innings.

Medina out hit Oakfield-Alabama 5-4 as Brennan Zinkievich and Devonte Howard had the Mustangs other base raps.

Now at 2-2, Medina is scheduled to open the Niagara-Orleans League season at Newfane at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
