Hornets post win over Hawks

Oakfield-Alabama snapped a two game losing streak by downing host Holley 43-24 this afternoon in a Genesee Region League football game.

The Hornets held leads of 14-0 after one quarter and 22-12 at the half.

Colin Papaj scored on a 30 yard run and quarterback Nick Passarell on an 8 yard carry for Holley in the second quarter to keep the Hawks within 10, 22-12, at the half.

Holley’s Adam Stetzel tries to avoid a tackle by the Hornets duo of Jon Harris and Ismile Smith.

However, the Hornets stretched the lead to 37-12 before Holley could get on the scoreboard again on an 8 yard TD run by Zach Day.

Passarell scored the Hawks final touchdown on a 30 yard run in the fourth quarter.

The Hornets improve to 2-3 in the league and 3-3 overall while the Hawks slip to 0-5, 0-6.

The Hawks come onto the field unveiling their new black jerseys.
