Holley United U17 is on soccer title quest

In the thick of the title race, undefeated Holley United will host the Brockport Blizzard in a Rochester District Youth Soccer League girls U17 Division game at 6 p.m. Sunday at Genesee Community College.

Currently at 8-0-1, Holley is battling to gain at least a share of the title with the Cobras FC which have already finished the division season at 11-0-1. Holley and the Cobras tied 1-1 in their recent meeting.

In league play, Holley has outscored their opponents 32-5 as goalkeeper Layne Walker has registered 4 shutouts.

Offensively, Emma Starowitz leads Holley with 13 goals and 2 assists. Samantha Bates has 9 goals and 8 assists, Emma Brady 9 goals and 7 assists, Jailyn Bishop 5 goals and 5 assists and Mia Thom 3 goals and 3 assists to round out the top five scorers.

During the season Holley has also captured the Brockport U17 Tournament championship and finished second at the Niagara Pioneer U17 Tournament.
