Holley tops R-H in tourney opener

Getting goal production from five different players, the host Hawks blanked Roy-Hart 5-0 this evening in the opening round of the Holley boys soccer tournament.

Holley grabbed a 2-0 lead in the first half on goals by Chris Balys and Gabe Mendoza.

The Hawks then put a lock on the victory on second half goals by Andrew Cary, Derek McArthur and Xander Apicella.

Holley will now face Alden in the championship game at 6:30 p.m. Friday.

Alden defeated Batavia 5-0 in the other semifinal.

The Lady Hawks tournament will get underway on Thursday with Greece Olympia facing LeRoy at 4:30 p.m. and Holley taking on Roy-Hart at 6:30 p.m.

The Lady Hawks consolation and championship games will be at 4;30 and 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
