Holley to face Pembroke in sectional final
No. 2 seed Holley will face top seeded defending champion Pembroke in the Section V 8 Man Division football playoff championship game at 7 p.m. Friday at Pittsford Sutherland.
Pembroke brings a 9-0 record into the title contest while Holley is 6-3.
The game will be a rematch of the regular season finale which saw Pembroke romp to a 66-26 win at Holley.
Caleb Felski, who has rushed for 2,725 yards and scored 41 touchdowns this season, had 3 TDs and 3 two-point conversions in the first 8 minutes to quickly put the Dragons in command by a 24-0 margin.
Holley is led by senior quarterback Destin Kuyal who has passed for 23 touchdowns and rushed for 7 more. Vinny Golisano has hauled in 19 of those TD aerials.
The Hawks advanced to the title contest by downing Wellsville 16-14 in the semifinals while Pembroke defeated Red Jacket 46-14.
This will be Holley’s first appearance in the sectional finals since 2010 when the Hawks lost to Letchworth 48-14 in the Class C final.
