Holley, R-H girls advance to sectional semis

Holley and Roy-Hart both scored shutout victories this evening in the quarterfinal round of sectional girls soccer completition.

No. 3 seed Holley blanked visiting No. 11 York/Pavilion 3-0 in a Section V Class C1 contest.

The Lady Hawks built up a 3-0 half-time advantage on two goals by Samantha Bates and one by Emma Brady. Bates also netted the lone second half goal. Jailyn Bishop and Bella Thom both had assists on the evening,

Holley will next face No. 2 Geneseo in the semifinals next Tuesday. Geneseo downed No. 7 Addison 3-0.

Top seeded Roy-Hart shutout visiting No. 9 Southwestern 2-0 in a Section VI Class B2 game.

Grace Trombley scored a goal in each half for the Lady Rams as Kaitlyn Mettler assisted on the game winning first goal.

Roy-Hart will next face No. 5 Allegany-Limestone in the semifinals next Wednesday at Sweet Home at 7:30 p.m.

In other Section VI quarterfinals involving Niagara-Orleans League teams, No. 7 Akron defeated No. 2 Olmsted 7-0 in Class B2 and top seeded Wilson bested No. 8 Cattaraugus/Little Valley 6-3 in Class C.
