Holley nips Pembroke in 1-0 thriller
Avenging an early season 35-0 drubbing, Holley nipped visiting Pembroke 1-0 in a Genesee Region League game this afternoon.
Holley picked up the game’s only run in the sixth inning on an RBI single by Brenden Trowbridge. A single by Seth Janus and a sacrifice by Zach Milner set up the threat.
The Hawks defense then came up big in the bottom of the seventh to preserve the win in exciting fashion as a relay throw from Janus in left to Trowbridge at short to Miles Lammes at catcher got the game’s final out at home plate.
The Hawks will close out the regular season at Kendall on Thursday.
In another G-R contest, a four run fourth inning scoring burst keyed Elba to a 5-1 win over Lyndonville.
