Holley netters shutout Elba
Holley blanked Elba 5-0 this afternoon to improve to 3-2 in Genesee Region League tennis competition.
Aaron Strathearn, Cheyan Palmer and Kristina Yaroshchuk all scored singles victories for Holley.
The Hawks also got wins from the doubles teams of Eli Bibby – Jake Peters and Erik Balys – Kory Puene.
Akron takes two from Newfane
Defending champion Akron improved its Niagara-Orleans League leading record to 9-0 by sweeping a doubleheader from Newfane by the identical score of 4-1.
Nate Chubb, Will Chubb and Morgan Wdowka all scored a pair of singles wins for Akron as did the Tigers first doubles team of Harry Fitzgerald – Micah Suckow.
The losses drop Newfane to 1-7.
In one other N-O match, Wilson defeated Albion 4-1 to improve to 5-3. Albion is now 2-7.
