Holley netters down rival Kendall

Just beating a late afternoon rain storm, Holley defeated host rival Kendall 4-0 today in a Genesee Region League tennis match.

Brady Smith defeated Riley Iqbal 6-2, 6-3 at first singles and Jon Rusin downed Zach Rohr 6-0, 6-3 at third singles to lead the way for Holley.

Improving to 4-1, the Hawks also took both doubles matches. Hunter DeFelice and Brian Scott defeated Jamie Treat and Chris Butlin 6-0, 6-1 at first doubles. Andrew Spychalski and Diana Yaroshuhuk downed Matt Murray and Dave Maslyn at second doubles.

Kendall’s Collin Lewis was leading Ian Penders 6-2, 6-5 at third singles when rain forced that match to be halted.

Diamond Postponements

The Albion softball team traveled to Roy-Hart but a rain storm, which included thunder and lightning, prevented the game from getting underway. The contest has been rescheduled for 4:45 p.m. Tuesday.

The Kendall softball team likewise traveled to Oakfield-Alabama but also did not get the contest going.

The Holley at Pembroke baseball game was also washed out and has been rescheduled for 4:30 p.m.Thursday.
