Holley netters blank rival Kendall; Albion and Medina post N-O victories

Holley edged past visiting rival Kendall 3-2 this afternoon in a Genesee Region League tennis match.

Holley swept the doubles matches with wins by the duos of Dalton Thurley -Steven Morgan 6-3, 7-6 over  Chris Butlin-Stephen Balka and Jake Peters-Austin Berns 6-2, 6-4 over Tory Raufeison-Kari Harrier.

The Hawks also took the first singles match as Aaron Strathearn defeated Nate Warters 6-3, 6-2.

Kendall got wins at second singles from Ryan Barrett, 4-6, 7-5, 6-2 over Cheyan Palmer, and at third singles by Matt Murray 7-6, 3-6, 7-6 over Kristina Yaroshchuk.

Holley is now 2-0 in the league and 3-1 overall while Kendall is 0-1, 1-2.

Albion 3, Wilson 2 1/2
Victories at the first two singles spots by Matt Kovaleski and Victor Benjovsky sparked Albion to a 3-2 1/2 win over Wilson in a Niagara-Orleans League match.

The Purple Eagles also got a win from the second doubles team of Haley Bader and Carson Bader.

Albion is now 3-2 and Wilson 0-2.

Medina 5 1/2, Barker 0
Straight set wins in singles competition by the trio of Andrew Fuller, Ray Paull and Toby Kiebala led Medina past Barker 5 1.2-0.

The Mustangs also got wins from the doubles duos of Andrew Houseman-Kody Leno, Haylee Seefeldt- Mark Barcena and Jacob Houseman-Sophia Cardone.

Medina is now 3-0 and Barker 0-3.

Akron 4, Newfane 1

Wins by the singles trio of Nate Chubb, Brandon Meek and Will  Chubb keyed undefeated (3-0) Akron to a 4-1 victory over Newfane (1-4).

Harry Fitzgerald and Maggie Leeds won at second doubles for Akron while Matt Pusateri and Caitlin Clak took the first doubles match for Newfane.
