Holley matmen take top honors at Avoca Tournament

Holley earned top honors at the round-robin Avoca Tournament today.

Nick Shenck (120), Martin Beadle (138), Aaron Ierlan (195) and Lucas Silvis all took first place honors to led the way for Holley which also got second place finishes by Brandon Morrell (99), Ryan Camacho (145), Kevin Avery (152), David Weaver (160), Jake Bailey (220) and Glenn Robb (285).

Shenck, Beadle and Silvis each went 5-0 on the tourney, Ierlan 4-0, Dan Flanagan (126), Camaho, Weaver and Bailey 4-1, Robb 3-1, Morrell, Brandon Edwards (126) and Issac Miller 3-2 and Zach Kates (126), John Tannis (132), Cameron Thorn (170) and AJ Wright (285 2-3).

Holley next hosts Alexander at 6 p.m. Tuesday in a key regular season ending Genesee Region League battle of the unbeatens for the title.

Lyndonville at Lew-Port Tourney
Lyndonville had four place finishers at the Lew-Port Tournament today.

Jeff Gress Jr. (99) placed second for the Tigers as Tom Follman (152) took a third and Devin Joy (145) and Dustin Joy (138) fourths.

Follman went 3-1 on the day, Gress 2-1 and Dustin and Devin Joy were both 2-2.

Girls Basketball

Attica 45, Kendall 33
Tania Arellano had 14 points and Nicole Browe 9 points and 6 steals for Kendall in the Lady Eagles 43-33 G-R loss to Attica on Friday night.
