Holley makes it four wins in a row as Ostrom scores a school record 51 against Alexander

Senior Broek Ostrom poured in a school record 51 points as Holley made it four wins in a row with an 80-68 win over host Alexander in the Genesee Region League season finale.

Ostrom, who scored 14 in both the first and second quarters, 11 in the third and 12 in the fourth, broke the Holley scoring record of 50 set by Tim Persia during the Hawks Section V Class B championship season of 1964.

“Broek works extremely hard and the other guys really thrive off of what he does. He’s a special kid and is somebody who is really deserving of this,” said Coach Wil Prince.

Erik Lang also scored a season high 21 for Holley which held narrow leads of 19-18 after one period, 37-35 at the half and 56-53 at the three-quarter mark before finally pulling away with a 24-15 fourth quarter scoring edge.

The Hawks finish the regular season at 10-10.

Oakfield-Alabama 69, Kendall 37
Building up a 40-18 half-time advantage, Oakfield-Alabama went on to defeat visiting Kendall 69-37 in a G-R contest.

Kaden and Kameron Cusmano combined for 33 points to lead the Hornets.

Braxton Zarpentine scored 10 and Jacek Kwiatkowski 8 for Kendall.

Byron-Bergen 81, Lyndonville 53
Braedy Chambry scored 21 and Corden Zimmerman 18 to lead Byron-Bergen to an 81-53 G-R win over visiting Lyndonville.

The Bees held leads of 26-15 after one quarter, 47-39 at the half and 65-38 after three quarters.

Noah Poler scored 23 and Trenton Muck 15 for Lyndonville.

N-O League

Newfane kept its hopes of earning a share of the Niagara-Orleans League title alive by downing host Akron 60-43.

Newfane finishes the season at 9-3. The Panthers now need Albion (5-6) to upend front-running (9-2) Roy-Hart on Thursday at Roy-Hart in order to claim a share of the title. Roy-Hart wins the title outright with a victory.

Akron finishes the N-O season at 3-9.
