Holley-Kendall wrestlers edge Albion
In a sea-saw battle which saw no less than six lead changes, Holley-Kendall edged Albion 41-33 in a non league wrestling match this evening at Holley.
Trailing 33-29 with two bouts remaining, Holley-Kendall regained the lead for good at 35-33 on a pin by Jared Ostrander (190) in 3:16. A forfeit win at 215 then closed out the win.
“Jared Ostrander’s match really turned the tide for the team,” said Holley-Kendall Coach Jim Mapes. “He had a big throw to get the wrestler on his back and secure the win with a pin”
Hunter Jewell-Smith (285), Kohle Pachla (124) and Neeka Caterisano (131) also had pins and Jacob Abrams (138) a technical fall win for Holley-Kendall.
Drake Schomske (108). Stryker Sanders (116), Jaxon Lynch (145), Kaiden Froman (152) and Noah Marat (170) all registered pins and Justin Mengs (101) had a decision win for Albion. The pins by Froman and Marat gave the Purple Eagles their last two leads at 27-23 and 33-29.
