Holley-Kendall matmen win tourney title

Coming from way behind in the title deciding match, Holley-Kendall captured top honors at the South Seneca Duals today.

Trailing 30-0, Holley-Kendall rallied to nip Letchworth 43-42 to claim the tourney title as a major decision win by Jayden Pieniaszek in the final bout provided the margin of victory for the Hawks.

Earlier in the tournament, the Hawks defeated South Seneca 52-28 and Wayland-Cohocton 60-21.

Pieniaszek, Tristyn Moyer, Nate Silversmith, Braxton Leary-Hart, Dylan Spellan and Erik Balys all went 3-0 on the day for the Hawks while David Farruggia, Hunter McLean, Jeremy Browe, Riley Hirschman and Dawson Custer were all 2-1.

Holley-Kendall next will host Churchville-Chili at 6 p.m. Friday for Alumni Night.

All former Holley and Kendall wrestlers are invited to attend and will be introduced at mat side prior to the match.
