Holley, Kendall in soccer semis Wed.; Mustangs host Pioneer Thurs. in football

The No. 4 seed Holley boys soccer squad will take on top seeded World of Inquiry in the semifinal round of the Section V Class C1 playoffs at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Spencerport.

Both teams advanced with narrow 1-0 quarterfinal round wins, Holley over No. 5 Geneseo and World of Inquiry over North Rose-Wolcott.

World of Inquiry is 15-1-1 and Holley 13-2-3.

The No. 5 Kendall girls will face a familiar foe in Genesee Region League rival top seeded Wheatland-Chili in the Class D1 semi at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Caledonia Mumford.

W-C (16-1) downed Kendall (13-5) twice during the G-R season by scores of 3-0 and 5-0.

The Medina/Lyndonville football squad will close out the season by hosting Pioneer in a non league game at 6 p.m. Thursday at Vets Park. The Mustangs are 6-2 and the Panthers 4-4.
