Holley, Kendall have G-R volleyball All-Stars

Photos by Cheryl Wertman – Holley’s Rachael Howard and Kendall’s Lauren Pilon have earned G-R All-Star volleyball honors.

Two local players, Holley senior Rachael Howard and Kendall sophomore Lauren Pilon, have earned Genesee Region League volleyball All-Star honors.

Three other local players, Holley junior Adriana Botello, Kendall sophomore Madison Shonitsky and Lyndonville sophomore Loeelei Dillenbeck, are Honorable Mention selections.

The G-R All-Star team also includes Kiersten Przybylski, Riley Merle, Mya Merle and Hailie Kramer from Alexander; Ellie Newell, Natalie Perl and Tori Walker from Attica; Lexi Viurraro, Julia Pangrazio and Kelly Ireland from Byron-Bergen; Lindsey Weidman and Amelia McCulley from Notre Dame; Thalia Sainpaulin from Wheatland-Chili and Leah Bezon from Elba.

The Honorable Mention selections also include Sam Sawyer from Alexander, Madelynn Pimm and Jorie Strzelecki from Byron-Bergen, Megan Johnson from Oakfield-Alabama, Ellie Cusmano and Ashley Harmon from Attica, Sarah McGinnis from Notre Dame, Miah Werth and Laci Sewar from Elba and Taylor Drummond and Emily Parker from Wheatland-Chili.

Section V Tennis

Holley freshman Cavan Bennage placed fourth at the Section V Class C individual tennis championships held Saturday at Gates-Chili.

Bennage, who went 2-2 on the day,  won his first two matches to advance to the semifinals.
