Holley in fact bunched all of its scoring into the final 20 minutes as Bailey Papaj netted the first two goals, off assists from Monica Merlau and Emily Pearson. Riley Sanger tallied the final goal off an assist from Samantha Barniak.

“They executed the things we talked about at half-time and made better decisions,” Holley coach Jill Mann Klotzbach said. “It was a great second half.”

Kendall got second half goals from Rachel Ackles and Nicole Browe as Maya Rutland and Shelby Reis earned the assists.

Kari Hurlbutt earned the shut-out in goal.

“It took a little bit for us to get going but we’re off to a good start,” Kendall coach Pam Beres said.
