Holley-Kendall has two 4th place finishers at the Section V state wrestling qualifier

The Holley-Kendall duo of William Kruger (160) and Hunter Jewell-Smith (285) both finished fourth at the Section V Division 2 state qualifier wrestling championship today at Bath Haverling High School.

Kruger scored a pair of pins in :46 and 3:53 before losing by pin in the semifinals. Rebounding, he scored a second period pin in the consolation round but then lost by decision in the bout for third and fourth place.

Jewell-Smith opened the competition with a pin of 3:22 but then lost by technical fall in the quarterfinals. Bouncing back, he registered three straight pins in consolation round matches in times of 1:10, :50 and 2:14 before losing by major decision in the bout for third and fourth place.

Also participating in the competition were Justin Holmes (108), Chanse Amsdill (108), Ty Holmes (131), Brody Hazel (145) and Shannon Withey (145) from Lyndonville and Jared Ostrander (190) from Holley-Kendall.
