Holley, Kendall boys win sectional openers
Holley and Kendall both scored victories this evening to open Section V boys soccer playoff action.
No. 10 seed Holley blanked No. 7 Campbell-Savona 2-0 in a Class C1 game at Cohocton.
Chris Mosier scored the two goals for the Hawks, both off assists from Brenden Trowbridge.
Holley will next visit No. 2 Byron-Bergen on Saturday.
No. 6 Kendall defeated No. 11 South Seneca/Romulus 7-1 at Wheatland-Chili.
Louis Conte scored 3 goals and Josh Esposito 2 for the Eagles as Jonathan Esposito and Colby Hughes each chipped in with 1.
Kendall will next face the winner of the No. 3 Alfred-Almond vs. No. 14 Honeoye game on Saturday.
Section VI Class A2 Boys
No. 8 seed Tapestry edged No. 9 Albion 2-1 in a Class A2 contest.
Finn McCue scored the goal for the Purple Eagles.
Section VI Class B2 Girls
No. 7 Newfane defeated No. 10 JFK 7-0 in a Class B2 opener.
