HOLLEY – No less than seven returning regulars anchor the line-up for the Holley Hawks varsity soccer squad which went 7-3 in Genesee Region League action (13-4-1 overall) last year.

Senior midfielders Brandon Moore and Ryan Camacho, senior defender Jimmy Williams, junior forward Tyler Chmylak, junior midfielder Josh Porter, junior defender Jon Bower and sophomore forward Gabe Mendoza lead the way for Holley whose main losses to graduation were midfield/forwards Will Barniak (8 goals, 9 assists) and Sam Beadle (8 goals, 4 assists) along with defenders Jake Bower and Zac Clark.

Mendoza did lead the Hawks in scoring last fall with 10 goals and 4 assists and Chmylak netted 7 goals.

“We’re extremely young,” said veteran coach Dan Orbaker who has been guiding the Hawks for over 25 years. “We lost quite a bit to graduation but we’ve got some good kids back. It’s just that we’re young.”

The Hawks will open the season by hosting the annual Hawks Tournament on Sept. 5 and 7 with Roy-Hart, Newfane and Batavia in the field.

The Hawks G-R opener will be at home on Sept. 11 against Pembroke.
