Holley girls open G-R title defense with win
Holley opened defense of its Genesee Region League Division 1 girls soccer title by downing host Attica 2-0 this evening.
Samantha Bates and Zoey Wolf each scored a goal for Holley as Jailyn Bishop and Emma Brady had the assists.
Hanna Ostrom earned the shutout in goal.
Heat causes postponements
Today’s high heat index caused the postponement of several contests.
In girls soccer, Kendall’s game against Keshequa in the opening round of the Keshequa Tournament has been rescheduled for 5 p.m. Thursday.
In Niagara-Orleans League volleyball, the Medina at Newfane match will now be played on Thursday and the Roy-Hart at Wilson match will be made up on Friday, both at 6:30 p.m.
In N-O field hockey, the Wilson vs. Akron and Barker vs. Newfane games were both postponed. The Barker game will be made up next Monday.
