Holley completes sweep over rival Kendall

Completing a home-and-home season series sweep, Holley downed rival Kendall 64-55 in a Genesee Region League boys basketball makeup game this evening at Holley.
Destin Kuyal scored 18, Chris Mosier 15 and Vinny Golisano 14 to lead the way for Holley as Josh Silposh added 8, Avante Walker 7 and Mason Moyer 2.
Kuyal reached the 1,000 point career scoring milestone with a three in the final seconds of the opening quarter.

Jonas Rhodes took game high honors for Kendall with 20 as Jonny Conte added 10, CJ D’Agostino 8, Vinnie D’Agostino 6, William Kludt and Sammy Conte 5 and Noah Morehouse 1.
Holley jumped out to a 22-10 first quarter lead. Mosier scored 10, including a pair of threes, as Kuyal and Golisano also both hit a three.
Kendall cut the deficit to three, 22-19, by opening the second period with a 9-0 run including a two and a three by Jonny Conte.
However, the Hawks answered with an 11-2 run, including three baskets by Golisano and a three-point play by Walker, and went on to hold a 33-25 advantage at the half.
Still up by 8, 39-31, early in the third period, Holley broke the game wide open with a big 18-2 scoring surge to pull away to a 24 point, 57-33 lead.
Kuyal hit three threes and Golisano had three baskets and a three-point play for the Hawks in the period which finished with Holley up by 17, 57-40.
Kendall could get no closer than the final nine point margin in the final period.
Holley is now 6-5 in the league and 7-8 overall while Kendall is 5-7 and 6-10.
Starpoint 65, Roy-Hart 47
A big third quarter scoring surge keyed Starpoint to a 65-47 win over Roy-Hart in a non league boys basketball game this afternoon at SUNY Niagara.
Breaking away from a 29-29 tie, Starpoint closed the third period with a 20-2 run to open up a commanding 49-31 lead heading into the final period.
Jackson Griesmer led the Spartans with a game high 27 points.
Braden Ricker scored 19 and Dan Aquilina 15 to pace the Rams.
