Albion, Holley, Kendall and Medina have announced there won’t be school today (Friday) due to continued power outages in their communities. Lyndonville is the only school district in Orleans that plans to be open today.

All five school districts in Orleans County were closed on Thursday.

Medina High School is being used as a Red Cross shelter. The shelter was open overnight and will continue to be open with food today.

Holley was scheduled for the opening performance of the musical “Grease” this evening. The musical’s schedule now includes shows on  Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and on Sunday at 2 p.m. If tickets were purchased for the Friday show, they can be used for Sunday or any of the shows on Saturday.

In Kendall, for Friday’s performance of the musical “Once Upon a Mattress,” if power is restored by 2 p.m., the performance will go on as scheduled at 7 p.m. If not, it will be canceled. If power is restored by 7 a.m. on Saturday, then the 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. performances will go on as scheduled; otherwise, they will be canceled. Another show may be added on Sunday, if any performances are canceled.

Updated 9:45 p.m. on March 9: The Orleans County Christian School is closed on Friday.
