Holley cagers bow in opener
Pulling away down the stretch Northstar downed visiting Holley 77-38 this evening in the non league season opener for the Hawks.
Northstar held leads of 16-12 after one period, 33-18 at the half and 47-37 at the three-quarter mark before erupting for 30 points in the final stanza.
Josh Porter had 13 points and 6 rebounds for Holley which also got 8 points each from Joey DeFelice and Nick Passarell and 6 rebounds from Chris Balys.
Holley next hosts Byron-Bergen Friday.
The Holley girls dropped a 50-24 decision at Byron-Bergen in the Genesee Region League opener for the Lady Hawks.
Sam Barniak had 9 points and 4 rebounds and Jade Underwood 8 rebounds and 5 points for Holley.
Byron-Bergen led 24-10 at the half.
