Holley bows in state football quarterfinals
Jumping out to a 16-0 first quarter lead, Frankfort-Schuyler went on to defeat Holley 52-14 in the quarterfinal round of the state 8 Man Division football playoffs this evening at Frankfort-Schuyler.
All of Holley’s scoring came in the fourth quarter on a pair of touchdown passes from quarterback Destin Kuyal to Vinny Golisano covering 14 and 54 yards and a two-point conversion run by Hunter Jewell-Smith.
Kuyal finished with 130 yards passing and Jewell-Smith 125 yards rushing.
The host Maroon Knights led 38-0 after three quarters.
Undefeated (11-0) Frankfort-Schuyler advances to the state semifinals against the winner of Saturday’s regional between Pembroke and Frewsburg.
The Hawks, which gained a spot in the state playoffs as a wildcard entry, finish the season at 6-5.
