Holley booters win opener for new coach

Holley made new coach and Hawks alum Josh Carpenter’s debut a successful one by blanking host Pembroke 4-0 this afternoon in a Genesee Region League soccer opener.

“It was a good start. There were a lot of positives,” said Carpenter.

Holley, which led by a slender 1-0 margin at the half, got goals from Brad Kingdollar, Nate Nothnagle, KJ Biedlingmaier and Kayden Servais.

Broek Ostrom earned the shutout in goal..

Kendall 1, Attica 1 (OT)
Kendall and visiting Attica battled to a 1-1 overtime tie in another G-R opener.

Kendall took a 1-0 lead in the first half on a goal by Jake Esposito off an assist from Michael McCue but Attica rallied into a tie with a late second half tally.

Mason Kuhn made several key saves in goal for Kendall.
