Holley ‘9’ scores win at Cooperstown
Making the most of an opportunity to play at Cooperstown’s historic Doubleday Field, Holley trimmed Genesee Region League foe Alexander 5-4 this morning.
Erik Lang singled in what proved to be the winning run for Holley in the fifth inning. A walk and a single by winning pitcher Broek Ostrom set up the opportunity.
Earlier, the Hawks scored twice in both the first and fourth innings. Miles Lammes had an RBI double in the first inning and Zach Milner singled in the fourth.
Lang and Lammes both finished with a pair of hits.
On the mound, Ostrom registered 8 strikeouts over the first six innings.
In a non league game, Oakfield-Alabama downed host Kendall 11-1 as Kyle Porter hurled a 3 hitter with 11 strikeouts.
