Holley ‘9’ returns good veteran group

Unlike a year ago when Holley’s varsity baseball squad had only one returning starter this season the Hawks have a good returning contingent led by six seniors.
The Hawks veteran group includes catcher Jake Norman, pitcher/second baseman Cody Tanis, centerfielder/pitcher Jamel Hildreth, first baseman Kohl Morgan, third baseman/pitcher Tony Farruggia and outfielder Nick Ballard, all seniors.
The Hawks are also looking to freshman pitcher/shortstop Miles Lammes, junior pitcher Jayden Gibaud and senior outfielder Malachi Rowcliffe.
“We’ve got a lot of experience,” said Coach Dan Burke whose Hawks are looking to rebound from last year’s 3-15 record. “It’s a pretty solid group overall. Our outfield should be better and I think we’ll have plenty of pitching. We’ve got a group of guys who play well together and I think we’ll be much better.”
Like all other area teams the start of the Hawks season has been put on hold due to the current Coronavirus caused school closing situation.
