No. 4 seed Holley rallied to nip visiting No. 5 LeRoy 4-3 this afternoon in a Section V Class B2 quarterfinal baseball game.

Trailing 3-2, Holley rallied for 2 runs in the bottom of the fifth inning on an RBI double by Nick Passarell and a passed ball for the margin of victory. An error set up the threat.

LeRoy had grabbed the lead by scoring three times with two out in the third inning on an error and 3 singles.

Holley had jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the first inning on an error and a fielders choice play off the bat of winning pitcher Dylan Hillabush. Lead-off singles by Collin Papaj and Passarell triggered the opportunity.

On the mound, Hillabush scattered 6 hits and struck out 6.

Now at 12-6, Holley will compete in the B2 semifinals on Tuesday against the Attica/Mynderse winner.

Holley’s Collin Papaj dives back into first base as LeRoy’s Nick Egeling waits for the throw.
