HoJack’s upends Albion Vets to win ‘B’ Division playoff title

MEDINA – Avenging an earlier round loss, HoJack’s scored a pair of title round victories over regular season front-runner Albion Vets on Saturday to capture the Medina Women’s Softball League ‘B’ Division playoff championship at Butts Park.

Albion Vets, which went 12-0 during the regular season, bested HoJack’s 14-13 in the winners bracket final.

However, HoJack’s rebounded to defeat Zambito’s 8-5 in the losers bracket final to gain a berth in the title round. Zambito’s finished in third place.

Keeping the momentum, HoJack’s knocked Albion Vets from the ranks of the unbeaten by posting a 22-13 victory in the opening game of the title round.

HoJack’s then completed the team effort comeback by outlasting Albion Vets 16-13 in the second and deciding championship round game.
