Staff Reports Posted 20 January 2020 at 8:01 am

ALBION – Hoag Library will have two book discussions during Black History Month in February, and will host Sankofa African Dance and Drum Ensemble in March.

The first book discussion will be Monday, Feb. 17, at 6 p.m. for a “Bring-Your-Own-Book Discussion.” Patrons are encouraged to read a book of their choosing related to black history. Those needing book suggestions can visit the Black History Month book display at the main entrance of the library.

There will be another book discussion on Monday, Feb. 24, at 6 p.m. with the focus on Barracoon: The Story of the Last “Black Cargo” by Zora Neale Hurston (audiobook version available free on the Hoopla app).

The Sankofa African Dance and Drum Ensemble from The College at Brockport is also scheduled to perform at Hoag Library in late March.

For more information on the book discussion, please contact Adult Services Librarian Mike Magnuson at 589-4246.
