High winds take down some wires
High winds have taken down some wires in Orleans County this morning. There aren’t any power outages currently reported by National Grid in Orleans, but thousands have lost electricity in Monroe and Wayne counties.
The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning for Orleans and much of Western New York until 11 p.m. today, with westerly winds from 35 to 45 miles per hour with gusts to 65 to 70 mph.
So far today, there are reports of wires down on Gaines Basin Road in Albion and Ridge Road in Ridgeway.
