High wind watch issued for Orleans, WNY on Wednesday
The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a high wind watch for Wednesday for Orleans County and most of Western New York.
The high wind watch is in effect from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. There will be southwest winds from 30 to 40 miles per hour with gusts up to 60 mph possible.
The damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines, and may lead to scattered power outages. Unsecured holiday decorations could also be damaged. Travel could be difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles, the Weather Service said.
