High wind watch in effect Sunday with temps to hit 68

The National Weather Service in Buffalo is forecasting a high wind watch on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. for Orleans County and Western New York.

There will be southwest winds from 25 to 35 miles per hour with gusts up to 65 mph possible.

“Damaging winds could blow down numerous trees and power lines,” the Weather Service said. “Widespread power outages are possible. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.”

Today is forecast to be cloudy with a high of 46, followed by a high of 68 on Sunday.

The highs in the forecast then include 37 on Monday, 36 on Tuesday and 42 on Wednesday.
