A high wind watch has been issued for Orleans and several other Western New York counties on Wednesday from 2 to 8 a.m.

The National Weather Service in Buffalo said there will be westerly winds from 30 to 40 miles per hour with gusts up to 60 mph. Strong to damaging winds are possible and could bring down trees and power lines, resulting in scattered power outages.

The watch includes Orleans, Genesee, Wyoming, Niagara, Erie, Monroe and Chautauqua counties.
