High wind warning issued for Halloween and Friday

The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a high wind warning for Thursday evening (Halloween) through Friday evening for Orleans, Niagara, Monroe, Erie, Genesee, Wyoming, Jefferson and Chautauqua counties

There will be southwest winds 35 to 45 miles per hour with gusts up to 60 mph possible.

The damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines, with widespread power outages possible. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles, the Weather Service said.

The high temperatures for the next few days include 67 on Tuesday, 54 on Wednesday, 57 on Thursday and 49 on Friday.
