High school football practice gets underway

Photos by Cheryl Wertman – High school football practice got underway this morning as teams prepare for the Labor Day weekend season openers. Here Albion running backs Jacob Hughson, in front, and Sh’kwe Riley work on a ball handling and agility drill. The Purple Eagles will open the season at home on September 2 against Falconer.

Several Medina players here work on a tackling drill under the eye of assistant coach Eric Gross during the opening practice session at Vets Park. The Mustangs will open the season at home against Newfane on September 2. Practice for the other fall sports teams including soccer, field hockey, volleyball, cross-country and golf will begin on Monday.
