Hickory Ridge weekly leagues roundup

The ladies started this past week off at Hickory Ridge with Tuesday night’s Ladies Night Out league. Deb Wood led all scorers with a 43 net. Laurie Freeman and Aleta Martin shared low net honors with a 41 each. Paula Knaak and Wood posted the only birdies on the day.

In the standings, the team of Wood and Martin still lead with 51.5. points. Ferguson and Brown are making a strong push for first in second place with 49.5 points. McNeil and Babbitt are in third with 42 points.

The Thursday Morning Pete Sullivan Sr. league shows an 18 hole low gross of 75 by Gene Ashe. Seven players tied for low net of 65. Birdies were had by Ashe, John True, Dan Murphy and Bob (Socks) Butler. Socks is a new name to the birdie brigade as this was his first of the season.

Closest to the pin on number 11 was Ashe with a distance of 9’8’’. Closest second shot of number 2 was Steve Novak with 28’.

A reminder, this upcoming Thursday, July 6, is the league’s annual three club tournament. There will be a picnic with beef on week and salads with raffles immediately following. No charge for league members and guests are invited for $15.

The Thursday Traveling Mens League had a low gross of 42 by Barry Flansberg. Low net was 30 scored by John Foos. Birdies were by Flansberg, Randy Van Houten, Tim Hollenbeck, Scott Buddy and Guy Eaton.

The standings are really tighting up with Flansberg and Stalker leading the way with 136 points, The team of Denniston and Draper are in second with 134 points. Farrell and Lach take third with 132 points.
