Hickory Ridge weekly leagues roundup

It was a slow week at Hickory Ridge with no tournaments and no results from three leagues. It will pick up soon with two tournaments already scheduled within ten days of one another.

The Tuesday Ladies Night Out league has Deb Wood again leading the low gross with a 38. Paula Knaak came in second with an impressive 42. Eiileen Snyder and Knaak shared low net with 34. Birdies were carded by Knaak and Melissa Cotter. Good round by Knaak as this golfer continues to move up the leaderboard.

In the standings Wood and Matin continue to lead with 72 points. Ferguson and Brawn are in second with 63.5 points just ahead of third place finishers Berlew and Hazen who have 62 points.

The Pete Sullivan Senior Golf League had a decent turnout with rain a few hours before tee off holding numbers down for participation. Still, over 30 golfers braved the elements for the day.

Low gross was shard by league statistician Gene Ashe and Dana Vosburgh with a 75 each.. Steve Novak again impresses with low net of 64 shared with Duane Engle and Vosburgh. Two birdies were recorded by Ashe and Vosburgh and one by John True. Look for those golfers to among the leaders in the final Pete Sullivan League Championship round upcoming. Closest to the pin on 18 was True at 7’ 2”. Closest second shot of number 5 was another strong contender for the league Rich Wheeler at 6’ 8”.

Thursday Men’s Traveling League show Guy Eaton shooting a one over par 36 for low gross honors. Eaton tied with Don Draper at 28 for low net. There was an assault on the course with 16 birdies recorded on the week. Eaton led with 3, followed by Draper, Josh Bennett, Ryan Willis, Chris Miller, Jason Schrader, Randy Van Houten, Barry Flansberg, Ben Flansberg, Scooter Burgess, Corry Stalker and Zack Burgess each recording one.

Flansberg and Stalker are in first place in the standings with 236 points. Close behind are Burgess and Eaton with 234 points. Holding third place are Molisani and Soria with 206 points.
