Hickory Ridge holds Spring Mixer Tourney

Contributed Photo – The foursome of Deb Wood, Paula Knaak, Owen Toale and Randy Knaak won the Spring Mixer Torunament at Hickory Ridge this weekend.

The Spring Mixer Member’s Tournament at Hickory Ridge, postponed from a rainy May, was held this past weekend.  The format was a scramble with pairings done by established GHIN or league handicaps.

 The foursome of Randy Knaak, Paula Knack, Deb Wood and Owen Toale won the tournament with a seven under par 65.

 Dona Hazen, Craig Hazen, Gary Wood and Dick Taylor were one stroke off with a 66.  Larry Powers, Brenda Powers, Jim Zambito and Marcia Zambito took third place with  a 67.

 The highlight of the tournament was a hole in one on the par three number 6 by Werner Stumpf.

Leagues are slow reporting but results are coming in.

 The always reliable Ladies Night Out League on Tuesday reports Deb Wood with a 37 for low gross.  Emily Ferguson was close behind with 42.  Low net was shared by Karen Berlew and Sarah MacCallum with net 32 each.

 The team of Deb Wood and Jan Palmer lead the standings with 24 points.  Very close behind are Dona Hazen and Karen Berlew with 23.5 points.  Laurie Freeman and Linda Chrzan hold third with 18.5 points.

The Wednesday Night Men’s League has the team of Daniels and Hendrickson in first place with 32.5 points.  Zambito and Toale are second with 23.5 and the Denniston are in third with 22.  Low gross for last week was Raymont Daniels with 43.  Daniels also snagged low net with 34.  Daniels and Ed Morgan recorded birdies.
