Hickory Ridge holds Scrambles Tournament

The Hickory Ridge Golf Association held another scramble tournament this past weekend. Individuals with either a GHIN or a team handicap were eligible to play. Teams were formed by handicap.

Craig Freeman, Paula Knaak and Brenda Powers took first with a 6-under 66 that included two eagles. Deb Wood, Owen Toale, Melissa Cotter and Robert (Sox) Butler were at a bogey free 5 under 67 take take second.

The leagues were going full last week with all the good weather as no rainouts were reported.

Starting the week off was the Tuesday Ladies Night Out league. Low gross was Deb Wood who shot a 40 with her partner Aleta Martin close behind with a 42. Low net was Marian Gerhardt with a 32 followed by Paula Knaak who scored a 33. Margie Page was close behind with a 34 net. Carol Lowell recorded the only birdie.

The Men’s Wednesday Night league has the teams of Clark Brooks and Dick Taylor and Ray Daniel and Tim Hendrickson sharing first place in the standings with 26 points each. Bob and Craig Wyant are close behind with 24.5 points. Low gross for the night was Hendrickson with a 42 while Taylor was low net with a 35. Hendrickson shows the only birdie.

The Thursday Morning Senior League reports closest to the pin on number six was Steve Novak. Closest second shot on number 15 was Dana Vossburg. Birdie skins were posted bye Gary Wood, John Gerhardt, AJ Gifaldi and Gene Ashe. The Thursday Night Mens Traveling league had a low gross of 39 by Wes Bedford. Scooter Burgess had low net with a 30. Barry Flansberg and Jeff Hillabush had the only birdies on the night. The team of Hanlon and Schrader hold down first with 132 points followed by Cotter and Root with 128 points. Burroughs and Snyder and Barry and Froman are tied for third with 108 points each.
